The best way to treat hip dysplasia in your pet is to catch the disease early. And even then a dog hip dysplasia treatment is a costly proposition.
The most common and most effective treatment involves surgery. The procedure is a triple pelvic ostectomy and it has good results if performed before the onset of arthritis. The results are not nearly as good if arthritis has already set in.
Catch the disease too late, and the only other viable option seems to be a complete hip replacement. But as with any major surgery of this type, there are risks involved. Consult with your if you notice your pet has trouble getting up, or is avoiding jumping or going up and down stairs.
