German shepherd dogs are valued all over the world for their courageous qualities and fast instincts in an emergency. German shepherd dogs are so well loved because of their lively and intelligent responses to their owners.

Historically, the German Shepherd has been used as a shepherd dog for cows, goats and sheep and at one time German dogs that were used for shepherding had a variety of appearances and coat textures. A German Shepherd’s body is longer than it is tall and its double coat has a dense outer coat that can range from straight to wavy. The German Shepherd coat may be a variety of colors including white. The American Kennel Club disqualifies white German Shepherds from any competitions related to the club.

German Shepherds are known for being courageous team workers and these dogs have a long history of being shepherd, working and pastoral dogs. The German Shepherd is intelligent and easily trained and can assess and react to situations as a team player. German Shepherds are trained for such missions as detection of a variety of dangerous devices and for rescue operations. German Shepherds can be aggressive and can have a dangerous bite. dogs and are part of many police squads worldwide.

This dog must be trained when it is going to be in the home because of its aggressive behavior during its puppy hood. You have to socialize and train your puppy so you can enjoy your owner/pet relationship. You may find it easier to obedience train German Shepherd dogs than it is with some other dog breeds.
